        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to revise certain provisions regarding the renewal of driver licenses by a member of the armed forces and their families.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That chapter 32-12 be amended by adding a NEW SECTION to read:
    Notwithstanding any other provisions in this chapter, a driver license issued under this chapter to a person who is a member of the United States armed forces and who is stationed outside of this state or to that person's spouse or dependent, located with the service member outside the state, is extended beyond the expiration date until the earlier of the following dates:
            (1)    Ninety days after the person who is a member of the United States armed forces is discharged from military service; or
            (2)    Ninety days after the person who is a member of the United States armed forces returns to the state.
