         A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,  Congratulating Sioux Falls Washington High School for its U.S. News and World Report Silver Medal rating.

     WHEREAS,  U.S. News and World Report judges schools based on reading and math scores, as well as a school's poverty level, racial makeup, and results from advanced placement tests; and

     WHEREAS,  Sioux Falls Washington High School, one of a select number of high schools in the nation to achieve a Silver Medal rating, received a college readiness index score of 26.5; and

     WHEREAS,  a 96.6 State Test Performance Index was awarded; and

     WHEREAS,  38.2 percent of Washington High School students participated in at least one advanced placement test at some point during high school:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,  by the Eighty-fourth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Washington High School be honored for its efforts in achieving a U.S. News and World Report Silver Medal rating.
