        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to create the crime of making a false statement to a law enforcement officer and provide a penalty therefor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. Any person who knowingly falsifies, conceals, or covers up information that is material to a criminal investigation, or makes a false statement that is material to a criminal investigation and makes the statement to a certified law enforcement officer is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
