        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to clarify certain requirements relating to initiated measures.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That § 2-1-12 be amended to read:
    2-1-12. The Each constitutional amendments and initiated and referred measures amendment, initiated measure, or referred law that have been is approved by a majority of all votes cast become or is approved as required by section 2 of this Act is effective the day on the first day of July after the completion of the official canvass by the State Canvassing Board.
    Section 2. That chapter 2-1 be amended by adding a NEW SECTION to read:
    An initiated measure proposed by the electors of the state is subject to the same constitutional requirements that apply to any measure proposed by the Legislature.
