"

    Nothing in this chapter limits the power of the Supreme Court to punish for contempt or to promulgate rules or orders regulating, restricting, or prohibiting the possession of weapons, within the Supreme Court chambers or within any other room under the permanent or temporary jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

    Section 3. That chapter 22-14 be amended by adding a NEW SECTION to read:

    Except as otherwise provided in § 22-14-25, any person who possesses a concealed weapons permit issued or recognized in accordance with chapter 23-7 may carry a concealed pistol in the state capitol and in any building appended to or used as a supplementary structure to the state capitol.".

        A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring the University of South Dakota Women's Volleyball Team for their outstanding athletic performance upon winning the 2018 Summit League Tournament Championship.

    WHEREAS, the team won the match by a score of three sets to two sets ending the Denver Pioneer's twenty-five game winning streak and run of four straight tournament titles; and

    WHEREAS, the University of South Dakota's senior middle blocker, Taylor Wilson, posted a career high twenty-four kills, and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player; and

    WHEREAS, head coach Leanne Williamson helped facilitate and cultivate the physical, mental, and emotional growth and development of her student-athletes while leading the successful season in her fourth year as head coach:

        A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring Carla McMurry-Kozak, a high school English teacher at Vermillion High School, on being named English Teacher of the Year by the South Dakota Council of Teachers of English and Speech Communication Association.

    WHEREAS, Carla McMurry-Kozak never ceases in the pursuit of education to better serve her students, community, and the State of South Dakota, and she successfully attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and speech pathology, secondary teaching certification, a Master's degree in special education, and is a doctoral candidate all through the University of South Dakota; and

    WHEREAS, Carla McMurry-Kozak has dedicated thirteen years to teaching students at Vermillion High School, working hard to guarantee that all students achieve and grow in a safe educational environment, and she has been a strong advocate for students, passionately ensuring that all students reach their potential:

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Fourth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature honors and commends Carla McMurry-Kozak on being named English Teacher of the Year by the South Dakota Council of Teachers of English and Speech Communication Association.
