NOTICES OF PROPOSED RULES: (The date in parentheses is the date the rules were filed in the Legislative Research Council)

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND REGULATION: BOARD OF COUNSELOR EXAMINERS: (January 12, 2000) intends to adopt rules to establish a fee for licensed professional counselors, licensed professional counselors ? mental health and marriage and family therapists who fail to meet the deadline for annual license renewal. The general authority for these rules, as cited by the board, is SDCL 36-32-19, 36-32-26, 36-32-43, 36-33-9, 36-33-17, 36-33-18, and 36-33-25.

A public hearing will be held in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at the Department of Commerce and Regulation, 118 West Capitol Avenue, Pierre, South Dakota, on February 18, 2000, at 9:00 a.m. to consider the adoption of the proposed rules. Copies of the proposed rules may be obtained from and written comments sent to the South Dakota Board of Counselor Examiners, PO Box 1822, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57101. Written comments must be received by February 16, 2000, to be considered. Persons who have special needs for which the board can make arrangements may call (605) 331-2927 before the hearing.

NOTE: The Board of Counselor Examiners has withdrawn these rules and cancelled the hearing scheduled for February 18, 2000.
