Department of Commerce and Regulation: Professions and Occupations: (April 19, 1999) is proposing repeal of the rules of the South Dakota Commission of Engineering, Architectural and Land Surveying Examiners and adopting new rules for the professions. The general authority for these rules, as cited by the department is SDCL 36-18-75, 36-18-76, 36-18-77, 36-18-78, 36-18-79, 36-18-80, 36-18-83, 36-18-90, 36-18-94, 36-18-97, 36-18-99, 36-18-100, 36-18-101, 36-18-102, 36-18-103, 36-18-105, 36-18-106, 36-18-108, 36-18-112, 36-18-114, 36-18-115, 36-18-116, 36-18-117, 36-18-118, 36-18-120, 36-18-121, 36-18-128 to 36-18-133, inclusive; 36-18-136 to 36-18-139, inclusive; and 36-18-142.

A public hearing will be held in Room 304, 2040 West Main, Rapid City, South Dakota, on May 13, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. Copies of the proposed rules may be obtained from and written comments sent to the South Dakota Commission of Examiners, 2040 West Main, Suite 304, Rapid City, SD 57501. Material sent by mail must be received by May 12, 1999, to be considered. Persons who have special needs for which the department can make arrangements are asked to call (605) 394-2510, at least forty-eight hours before the hearing.

Rules Review Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the Interim Rules Review Committee will be held Wednesday, June 16, 1999, in Legislative Conference Rooms 1 and 2, Third Floor, State Capitol, Pierre, starting at 9:00 a.m. Agencies whose rules have had a public hearing are asked to have a representative present at the meeting to give background information on their rules.

Each agency is requested to provide LRC with eight copies of the most recent draft of its rules two days before the meeting.
