         FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  provide that health education be factual, medically accurate, and objective.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
     Section  1.  That chapter 13-33 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
     Any school district that provides health education shall ensure that the information provided to students is factual and medically accurate and objective. For the purposes of this section, factual information includes medical, psychiatric, psychological, empirical, and statistical statements. For the purposes of this section, medically accurate and objective means verified or supported by research conducted in compliance with scientific methods and published in peer- reviewed journals, if appropriate, and recognized as accurate and objective by leading professional medical organizations and agencies with expertise in the relevant field.
