___________________ moved that HB 1137 be amended as follows:
Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of five million eight
hundred twenty-nine thousand three hundred eighteen dollars ($5,829,318) or so much thereof as
may be necessary, to the Department of Education for a one-time payment to school districts. The
Secretary of Education shall distribute this funding based on actual fall student enrollment in fiscal
year 2012.
Section 3. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of one hundred thousand
dollars ($100,000) or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Department of Education to fund
the Teach for America grant program.
Section 4. The secretary of the Department of Education shall approve vouchers and the state
auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized in this Act.
Section 5. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall revert
in accordance with § 4-8.
Section 6. Whereas, this Act is necessary for the support of the state government and its existing
public institutions, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Act shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval."
