    44:73:12:44.  Pipe requirements. A facility shall ensure its piping system for potable water is installed to eliminate any dead-end runs of piping. Before placing any potable water system in service, the piping system must be disinfected in accordance with article 20:54 and certification must be available from the installer showing the method used, date of installation, test procedure used to verify chlorine concentrations, and date the system was flushed and placed in service.

    Pipe covering, vapor barriers, and adhesives must have a flame spread index of not more than twenty-five and a smoke emission factor of not more than fifty when tested in accordance with the ASTM E84-23D, 2010 edition, Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials.
