FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act
to establish a holiday to observe the ratification of the Bill
of Rights.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That chapter 1-5 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:

The fifteenth day of December, to be known as Bill of Rights Day, shall be observed in this
state as a working holiday. Bill of Rights Day is dedicated to remembrance of and reflection on
the ratification of the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution and their
significance for all Americans.
