A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,
Honoring an outstanding South Dakota businessman,
meat processor, and outdoorsman, Leeallen "Lee" Hofer, who passed on recently as he was
clearing snow from the pond he created for fishing with his grandchildren.
WHEREAS,
Leeallen "Lee" Hofer demonstrated an outstanding lifelong dedication to sportsmen
and wildlife conservation organizations; and
WHEREAS,
he served his country in the United States Navy for four years and was a member
of the VFW; and
WHEREAS,
he was actively involved in his community through his work with the Tea airport,
the Delapre Township board, and his own business, Lee's Meats and Sausages, in which, he
perfected the art of processing game meat; and
WHEREAS,
he maintained an unwavering dedication to his family, including his wife, Doris;
his children, Valerie, Rhonda, and Chris; his grandchildren, Joslyn, Zach, Jordan, Aubrey, Ariana,
Bethany, Rachel, Tristan, Ethan, and Aidan; and his great-grandchild Elijah:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,
by the Eighty-second Legislature of the State
of South Dakota, that Leeallen "Lee" Hofer be honored for his lifelong dedication to sportsmen and
wildlife endeavors, his country, his community, and his family.
