ENTITLED An Act to authorize the South Dakota Department of Corrections to purchase certain real property, to make an appropriation, and to declare an emergency.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. The Department of Corrections may purchase, on behalf of the State of South Dakota, a site comprising about 6.57 acres adjacent to the South Dakota Women's Prison, legally described as:

Cunningham's Outlot No.1 except the N1018' of said Cunningham's Outlot No. 1 and except platted Lot R in Cunningham's Outlot No.1. All of Cunningham's Outlot No.2 except the N1018' of said Cunningham's Outlot No. 2, City of Pierre, Hughes County, South Dakota.

Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of $910,000 to the Department of Corrections, for purposes authorized in section 1 of this Act.

Section 3. The commissioner of the Bureau of Administration and the secretary of the Department of Corrections shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.

Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.

Section 5. Whereas, this Act is necessary for the support of the state government and its existing public institutions, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
