A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring Marie Gross, a member of the Timber Lake School District Board of Education, on her selection as the Associated School Boards of South Dakota Outstanding School Board Member of South Dakota for 2020.

WHEREAS, Marie Gross is a true champion for improving the educational opportunities, safety, and welfare of all students who attend the Timber Lake School District; and

WHEREAS, under her leadership as School Board President, the Timber Lake School District implemented highly successful RIT programs, optimized data collection and use, enhanced school-wide cultural opportunities, implemented and expanded college readiness opportunities, built a new sports complex, improved existing facilities, fine-tuned the district's crisis plan, and increased student involvement in extracurricular activities; and

WHEREAS, Marie Gross leads by example; sets high expectations for herself, her own children, and the students of the Timber Lake School District; and works tirelessly to ensure all students have opportunities to reach their own learning potential:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Sixth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Marie Gross be honored and commended for being selected as the Associated School Boards of South Dakota Outstanding School Board Member of South Dakota for 2020.
