An Act to appropriate coronavirus relief fund moneys for family visitation rooms.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $15,000,000 in federal fund expenditure authority to the Department of Human Services, for purposes of providing grants to long-term care and congregate homes to be used for family visitation rooms.
Section 2. It is the intent of the Legislature that coronavirus relief fund moneys be used for the appropriation in section 1 of this Act.
Section 3. The grants provided in section 1 of this act shall be used for family visitation rooms that must have separate internal and external exit points and special venting, and grant recipients shall require the use of personal protective equipment in these rooms. The grant applicant shall also be required to contribute at least ten percent of the total requested cost of the family visitation room.
Section 4. The secretary of the Department of Human Services shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.
Section 5. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated by June 30, 2025, shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.
