An Act to provide for diploma privilege for admittance to the practice of law.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:
Section 1. That chapter 16-16 be amended with a NEW SECTION:
A graduate of the law school of the University of South Dakota who has been awarded by such university the degree of juris doctor shall be admitted to the practice of law in this state without taking the examination prescribed by § 16-16-6 upon furnishing satisfactory evidence of such degree and qualifications as to age and moral character pursuant to § 16-16-2. An applicant under this section must be a resident of this state prior to admittance.
