A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Celebrating the Platte-Geddes High School football team for winning the Class 9AA state championship.

WHEREAS, the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers football team has won back-to-back championships by defeating the Canistota/Freeman Pride football team. The Platte-Geddes Black Panthers topped the Canistota/Freeman Pride with a final score of 14-8 to win the Class 9AA state football championship; and

WHEREAS, Platte-Geddes scored a touchdown with only 3:33 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to pull off the victory. The game-winning play was a nine-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dawson Hoffman to Aiden Bultje; and

WHEREAS, Platte-Geddes used two quarterbacks in the win. Quarterback Grayson Hanson was the game's MVP with 5 of 7 passing for 77 yards, 83 yards rushing, and a touchdown. The other quarterback, Dawson Hoffman, was 5 of 7 passing for 97 yards and tossed the game-winning touchdown:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Seventh Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Platte-Geddes High School football team be commended for winning the Class 9AA state championship and for displaying teamwork, leadership, hard work, and commitment to their school and team.
