A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION, Honoring healthcare workers who died and risked their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the most significant public health crises in modern history, impacting lives, communities, and economies worldwide; and
WHEREAS, healthcare workers stood on the front lines of this crisis, risking their own health and safety to care for those afflicted by the virus, often working long hours under immense physical and emotional strain; and
WHEREAS, healthcare workers not only provided essential medical care, but also offered compassion, support, and hope to patients and families during a time of great uncertainty; and
WHEREAS, many healthcare workers tragically lost their lives while providing critical care to patients, and countless others endured the physical and emotional toll of the pandemic, while continuing to serve their communities; and
WHEREAS, sacrifices made by healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic exemplify extraordinary courage, resilience, and dedication to the well-being of others;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the House of Representatives of the One Hundredth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, the Senate concurring therein, that all healthcare workers are recognized for their contributions, sacrifices, and courage during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Legislature honors the healthcare workers who tragically lost their lives while caring for others, and remembers their enduring impact on the health and resilience of their communities.
