A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Recognizing and expressing gratitude to Mike Pedersen for his decades-long commitment to celebrating the joy of Christmas through music.

WHEREAS, the 2024 Christmas season marks the thirty-fifth year that Mike Pedersen has invited all to join in singing Christmas carols as he plays his iconic pipe organ at the Nora Christmas Store in the community of Nora, South Dakota; and

WHEREAS, Mike’s dedication to the spirit of Christmas and his sharing of the joy of the holiday through music has become a cherished tradition for generations of South Dakotans and visitors alike; and

WHEREAS, the novelty of Mike Pedersen and the Nora Christmas store has been featured on national television programs, enabling others across the nation to experience this great treasure;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Mike Pedersen has made a positive difference in the lives of many South Dakotans by spreading the Christmas spirit and bringing the joy of holiday music to thousands of people.
