An Act to permit merit pay as a component of teacher compensation.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

Section 1. That a NEW SECTION be added to chapter 13-13:

In addition to any amount provided for on a salary schedule established by the board of a school district for teachers, a teacher is entitled to receive merit pay in the amount established by the board.
