A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Honoring the Sioux Falls Lincoln High School Patriots Marching Band senior class for its many accomplishments.

WHEREAS, an outstanding group of band seniors have continued to elevate the historic tradition of the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots Marching Band; and

WHEREAS, the Class of 2025 is the first group of students to help propel the Patriot's Marching Band Field Show into four straight years of competing in the Bands of America Super Regional Finals Competition; and

WHEREAS, at the 2021 Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Championship, the Patriots reached the championship finals with their field show, "Queen's Gambit"; and

WHEREAS, at the 2022 Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Championship, the Patriots reached the championship finals with their field show, "Houdini Un-Chained"; and

WHEREAS, at the 2023 Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional Championship, the Patriots reached the championship finals with their field show, "Fabric of Time"; and

WHEREAS, at the 2024 Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Championship, the Patriots reached the championship finals with their field show, "The Big Apple"; and

WHEREAS, the Patriots were selected to march and perform in the ninety-eighth annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City, on Thursday, November 28, 2024;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Patriot's senior class's many accomplishments contributed to the Sioux Falls Lincoln High School Patriots Marching Band continuing their historical tradition of being the premiere marching band in South Dakota.
