FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to provide for an additional position in the Governor's
Office of Economic Development to coordinate economic development with the tribes and
to make an appropriation therefor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Governor's Office of Economic Development and one FTE position created in the Governor's Office of Economic Development for the purpose of coordinating economic development with the tribes by communicating the development programs available through the state and federal governments, assisting the tribes in establishing economic development offices, and seeking economic opportunities on behalf of the tribes. The position shall submit a status report to the State-Tribal Relations Committee by December 1, 2016.
Section 2. The Commissioner of the Governor's Office of Economic Development shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.
Section 3. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated by June 30, 2017, shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.
