A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending the entire South Dakota Army
National Guard on being awarded a first place gold finish in the 2016 Army Communities
of Excellence Awards.
WHEREAS, the entire South Dakota Army National Guard was awarded with a first place
gold finish in the 2016 Army Communities of Excellence Awards, an award that recognizes top
performance within the United States Army, National Guard and Reserve installations, and
communities regarding their approach to systems management; and
WHEREAS, the entire South Dakota Army National Guard placed second overall among
thirty-six applicants in the Army National Guard category; and
WHEREAS, the South Dakota Army National Guard is the backbone of military readiness,
and the state's national guard forces train in, deploy from, and return to their local sustaining
communities; and
WHEREAS, the entire South Dakota Army National Guard continues to demonstrate
continued support to their communities and the State of South Dakota:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Second Legislature of
the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature commends the entire South Dakota Army
National Guard for its first place gold finish award in the 2016 Army Communities of
Excellence and for its continued support to local communities and the State of South Dakota.
