<html> <head> <title>Rule 20:18:18:01 Definitions.</title> <META NAME="Keywords" Content="Administrative Rules 20:18:18:01"> <META NAME="Description" Content="Administrative Rules 20:18:18:01 Definitions."> <meta name=Generator content="Microsoft Office HTML Filter 2.0"> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <meta name=Originator content="Microsoft Word 10"> <style> <!-- --> </style> </head> <body lang=EN-US> <div> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <b>20:18:18:01.&nbsp;&nbsp;Definitions.</b> As used in this chapter, the following terms mean:</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Conversion,&quot; a change from one preapproved configuration to another preapproved configuration;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (2)&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Game outcome,&quot; the final result of the wager;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (3)&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Modification,&quot; a change or alteration in an approved slot machine that affects the manner or mode of play or the percentage paid by the slot machine, including a change in control or graphics programs, but not a conversion from one approved mode of play to another approved mode of play, replacement of one component with another preapproved component, or the rebuilding of a previously approved slot machine with preapproved components;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (4)&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;On-line monitoring and control system,&quot; a game management system that continuously monitors each electronic gaming device via a defined communication protocol by a dedicated line or other secure method;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (5)&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Randomness,&quot; the unpredictability and absence of pattern in a set of elements or events that have definite probabilities of occurrence;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (6)&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Redemption kiosk,&quot; any device that accepts a redeemable ticket voucher that is issued as a result of a cash out from a gaming device. The kiosk shall communicate the ticket voucher information to the ticket validation system.
