The South Dakota title shall reflect the engine number as the serial number of the motorcycle.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If the motorcycle has an after market engine replacement or cases, a new serial number shall be assigned and a rebuilt title issued to the owner. If the frame is replaced by an after market frame, a new serial number shall be assigned and a rebuilt title issued to the owner.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If the motorcycle has had a frame replacement with a 1969 or older frame, a new serial number is not assigned, but the motorcycle shall be inspected. The title may not be issued as a rebuilt.
