Adaptations include items such as the following:</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (1)&nbsp;&nbsp;The installation of ramps or grab bars;</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (2)&nbsp;&nbsp;Widening of doorways;</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (3)&nbsp;&nbsp;Modifications to bathroom facilities; and</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (4)&nbsp;&nbsp;Installation of specialized electric and plumbing systems necessary to accommodate necessary medical equipment and supplies.</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;</span></font></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='punctuation-wrap:simple;text-autospace:none; vertical-align:baseline'><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Adaptations or improvements to the home that increase the total square footage of the home or are not a direct medical or remedial benefit to the participant, such as carpeting, roof repair, or central air conditioning, are not covered.
