Calculation of student achievement progress goals and yearly targets. </span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> The department shall calculate student achievement progress goals and yearly targets separately for English language arts and mathematics and for each student group in each public school as follows:</span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913000002"> </span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">    (1)  Based on state academic assessment scores from the 201</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">7</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">-201</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">8</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> school year, the</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">department shall determine the fiftieth percentile school;</span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913000002"> </span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">    (2)  Determine the gain in percent of students achieving</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">proficiency the school </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">must have</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> to achieve the same proficiency level as the fiftieth percentile</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">school within five years. This is the school's </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">student achievement</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> progress goal;</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> and</span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913000002"> </span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">    (3)  Divide the school's student achievement progress goal calculated in subdivision</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">(2) by five, rounding to the nearest hundredth. This is the school's annual target for increasing the</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">percentage of students at the proficient level at the necessary rate to reach the same level as the</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">fiftieth percentile school within five years.</span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913000002"> </span></p><p dir="ltr" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913P0"><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">    For schools performing above the fiftieth percentile in the 201</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">7</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">-201</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">8</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> school year, </span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">the department shall set </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">annual</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">targets to reach the level of the seventy-fifth percentile school by the 202</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">4</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">-202</span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">5</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> school</span><span xml:space="preserve" class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0"> </span><span class="sfa61a845-ed5c-45e7-a0df-ad9b045ca913C0">year using the above methodology.
