20:51:17:01.02.  Pharmacist shall review first-dose prescription drug order -- Exception. The first dose of a prescription drug may not be removed from an automated mechanical distribution device until a pharmacist has reviewed the prescriber's orders. In a health care facility, medical staff may request, in writing, a defined number of drugs that may be removed without review by a pharmacist in an emergency situation.
