The department may also receive and expend money furnished by the firm whose name or logo is displayed on the sign to cover the cost of the business sign. The Transportation Commission may adopt rules pursuant to chapter </span><a href="https://sdlegislature.gov/Statutes/Codified_Laws/DisplayStatute.aspx?Type=Statute&amp;Statute=1-26"><span class="s2053334DefaultParagraphFont">1-26</span></a><span xml:space="preserve" class="s2053334DefaultParagraphFont"> to establish a uniform annual assessment and initial fee to the advertiser to cover the cost of maintaining and erecting such signs.
