In addition to specifying the initial qualification requirements, the rules shall require that veterinary technicians complete courses of study in subjects related to veterinary technology. The rules shall govern the minimum amount and type of continuing education in veterinary technology to be completed by each veterinary technician seeking registration renewal pursuant to § </span><a href="https://sdlegislature.gov/Statutes/Codified_Laws/DisplayStatute.aspx?Type=Statute&amp;Statute=36-12-21.5"><span class="s2060119DefaultParagraphFont">36-12-21.5</span></a><span class="s2060119DefaultParagraphFont">.
