Executive Orders:

Executive Order 99-04, dated April 7, 1999, creates the Governor's Year 2000 Task Force to research Year 2000 compliance. The Task Force shall periodically disclose to the public, both status and rate of progress. The Task Force shall also report its findings to the Governor each month of its existence until it dissolves June 30, 1999. The Year 2000 Task Force shall be administered by the Bureau of Information and Telecommunications.

Executive Appointments:

John Luisi, Sioux Falls, was reappointed on March 30, 1999, to the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, effective April 14, 1999, to continue until April 14, 2002.

Christine R. Pellet, Yankton, was appointed on April 5, 1999, to the South Dakota Board of Nursing to replace Kathryn Yeaton who resigned, effective immediately and to continue until July 1, 2002.

Jerry J. May, Sioux Falls, was appointed on April 6, 1999, to the Law Enforcement Civil Service Commission to replace Charles Crotty, effective immediately and to continue until April 22, 2000.

James L. Pelle, Philip, was appointed on April 6, 1999, to the Law Enforcement Civil Service Commission to replace Dave Hunhoff, effective immediately and to continue until April 22, 2001.

Douglas J. Hajek, Sioux Falls, was appointed on April 6, 1999, to the Governor's Task Force on Trust Administration Review and Reform, effective immediately and to continue at the pleasure of the Governor.

 

CORRECTION: On page 123 of the Register, under Administrative Rules filed in the Secretary of State's Office, ATTORNEY GENERAL: LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS TRAINING COMMISSION delete 20:05:01:01 and insert 02:05:01:01.

The following agencies have permission from the Interim Rules Review Committee to charge for adopted rules: the Division of Insurance, the Cosmetology Commission, the State Board of Examiners in Optometry, the State Plumbing Commission, the Board of Nursing, the Department of Social Services, the State Electrical Commission, the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy, the Real Estate Commission, the Gaming Commission, the Department of Commerce and Regulation for commercial driver licensing, the Department of Labor for Article 47:03, and the Department of Revenue.

Rules Review Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the Interim Rules Review Committee will be held April 14, 1999, in Legislative Conference Rooms 1 and 2, Third Floor, State Capitol, Pierre, starting at 9:00 a.m. Agencies whose rules have had a public hearing are asked to have a representative present at the meeting to give background information on their rules.

Each agency is requested to provide LRC with eight copies of the most recent draft of its rules two days before the meeting.
