Department of Commerce and Regulation: Board of Social Work Examiners: (July 16, 1999) is proposing rules to require candidates for certified social worker in private, independent practice (CSW-PIP) licensure to file a supervision agreement in advance of beginning supervision, clarify the requirements for licensure, and define the criteria for supervision. The general authority for these rules, as cited by the board, is SDCL 36-26-29.

A public hearing will be held at the Casey Family Program Office, 2920 Sheridan Lake Road, Rapid City, South Dakota, on October 1, 1999, at 8:00 a.m. Copies of the proposed rules may be obtained from and written comments sent to the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners, 135 East Illinois, Suite 214, Spearfish, South Dakota 57783. Material sent by mail must be received by September 25, 1999, to be considered. Persons who have special needs for which the board can make arrangements are asked to call (605) 642-1600 before the hearing.

Executive Order:

Executive Order 99-10, dated July 12, 1999, establishes the Governor's Wage Study Task Force to research wage rates, income, and disposable income benefits in comparable employment positions as they relate to community sizes, types of businesses, neighboring states, and the United States' averages.

Rules Review Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the Interim Rules Review Committee will be held Wednesday, August 11, 1999, in Legislative Conference Rooms 1 and 2, Third Floor, State Capitol, Pierre, starting at 9:00 a.m. Agencies whose rules have had a public hearing are asked to have a representative present at the meeting to give background information on their rules.
