NOTICES OF PROPOSED RULES: (The date in parentheses is the date the rules were filed in the Legislative Research Council)

Bureau of Administration: State Director of Purchasing and Printing: (October 19, 2000) is proposing rules to increase the maximum fees for publication of legal notices by 2.8 percent to compensate for the effects of inflation. The general authority for these rules, as cited by the department is SDCL 17-2-19.

A public hearing will be held on November 15, 2000, at 1:00 p.m., in Room 430, 4th Floor, State Capitol Building, Pierre, South Dakota. Copies of the proposed rules may be obtained from and written comments sent to the Bureau of Administration, State Capitol, 500 East Capitol, Pierre, South Dakota 57501-1234, and must be received by November 25, 2000, to be considered. This hearing is being held in a physically accessible place. Persons who have special needs for which the office can make arrangements are asked to call (605) 773-3688 at least forty-eight hours before the hearing.

 

FILINGS IN THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE:

Executive Appointments:

Lorin D. Pankratz, Sioux Falls, was appointed on October 12, 2000, to the Board of Examiners of Psychologists, to replace Judi Bollweg, effective immediately and to continue until July 1, 2002.

Bradley D. Woldt, Brookings, was appointed on October 13, 2000, to the Board of Examiners of Psychologists, to replace Dr. Mark J. Britzman, effective immediately and to continue until July 1, 2001.

The following agencies have permission from the Interim Rules Review Committee to charge for adopted rules: the Division of Insurance, the Cosmetology Commission, the State Board of Examiners in Optometry, the State Plumbing Commission, the Board of Nursing, the Department of Social Services, the State Electrical Commission, the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy, the Real Estate Commission, the Gaming Commission, the Department of Commerce and Regulation for commercial driver licensing, the Department of Labor for Article 47:03, and the Department of Revenue.

Rules Review Committee Meetings

The next meeting of the Interim Rules Review Committee will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2000, in Room 413 of the State Capitol, Pierre, starting at 9:00 a.m. The committee chair has tentatively set the December meeting for the 12th. Agencies whose rules have had a public hearing are asked to have a representative present at the meeting to give background information on their rules.
