         FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  classify certain persons as residents for purposes of higher education tuition.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
     Section  1.  That chapter 13-53 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
     Any person who is actively serving in the armed forces of the United States, and who, at the time of registration, is stationed for active duty in the State of South Dakota, qualifies for resident tuition rates at the institutions controlled by the Board of Regents. The provisions of this Act also apply to the spouse of such person.
