         FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  create an innovative grant program to enhance student completion of the advanced and distinguished high school programs.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
     Section  1.  There is hereby created a grant program to enhance student completion of both the advanced high school program and the distinguished high school program as established by the Board of Education in ARSD 24:43:11.
     Section  2.  Grants shall be awarded based on criteria established by the secretary of the Department of Education. When establishing the criteria, the secretary shall take into consideration such factors as remediation levels, dual-credit opportunities pursuant to §  13-28- 37, postsecondary credits, and the availability of secondary career and technical education programs.
