A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,  Recognizing and commending the Kuchen Festival on October 17, 1999, in Delmont, South Dakota.

     WHEREAS,  the Kuchen Festival, sponsored by the Delmont Historical Society, celebrates the rich cultural heritage and traditional food of their German ancestors; and

     WHEREAS,  the Kuchen Festival will be held at the Delmont Legion Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. where a Kuchen craft fair and soup kitchen will be held; and

     WHEREAS,  the excellent food, fun, and hospitality make this event a true South Dakota tradition:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,  by the Seventy-fourth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature commends the people of Delmont, South Dakota, and the surrounding area, for their outstanding traditional Kuchen Festival and invites all South Dakotans to participate in the Kuchen Festival on October 17, 1999.
