HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 1019
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION,
Recognizing Doug Sombke for being selected Outstanding
Young Farmer at the National Outstanding Young Farmers Award Congress.
WHEREAS,
Doug Sombke of rural Groton farms approximately thirty-five hundred acres,
growing soybeans, corn, wheat, and sunflowers and feeds calves and ewes; and
WHEREAS,
Doug Sombke was one of four national winners selected from among thirty-two
state winners competing at the National Outstanding Young Farmers Award Congress in Mobile,
Alabama; and
WHEREAS,
Doug Sombke and his family exemplify the best aspects of rural America and will
serve as outstanding representatives for the people of South Dakota and its agricultural community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
by the House of Representatives of the Seventy-
fourth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, the Senate concurring therein, that Doug Sombke
be congratulated for being selected as an Outstanding Young Farmer at the national level.
