FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to  revise certain provisions related to background checks for substitute teachers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section  1.  That chapter 13-10 be amended by adding thereto a NEW SECTION to read as follows:
Any substitute teacher who was employed as a substitute teacher by a school district during or prior to the 2000-2001 school year is not required to obtain a background investigation under §  13-10-12 if the person is subsequently employed as a substitute teacher in the same school district.
