FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to
revise the period during which vehicles' front and rear
lamps shall be used.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 32-17-4 be amended to read as follows:
32-17-4.
Every
Each
vehicle upon a highway within this state during the period from a half
hour after sunset to a half hour before sunrise and at any other time when there is not sufficient
light to render clearly discernible any person on the highway at a distance of two hundred feet
ahead, shall be equipped with lighted front and rear lamps
as respectively required
. If it is raining
and the windshield wipers are in use, the vehicle shall be equipped with lighted front and rear
lamps. The requirements for front and rear lamps are specified
in
§
§
32-17-1 to 32-17-26,
inclusive, for different classes of vehicles
and subject to exemption with reference to lights on
parked vehicles as declared in
. If the vehicle is parked or stopped on a highway, the vehicle shall
comply with
§
32-17-27. A violation of this section is a Class 2 misdemeanor.
