FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to
eliminate the requirement that appointed scale inspectors
take an oath of office and post a performance bond.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 37-22-5 be amended to read as follows:
37-22-5. The Division of Commercial Inspection and Regulation
of this state is hereby
authorized and empowered to
may
appoint suitable and competent inspectors to aid the
said
division in making inspections and repairs of scales under its jurisdiction
, such appointments to
be made for such time as the
. The
division shall designate
the length of any appointment
. Each
person so appointed shall qualify by taking an oath of office and giving a bond to the state in the
sum of one thousand dollars conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties. Such
