FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to
require certain disclosures if selling certain implements,
machinery, equipment, or vehicles with hour meters.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. No person may knowingly sell or offer for sale any agricultural implement, farm tractor, farm machinery, farm equipment, construction machinery, construction equipment, motor vehicle, or recreational vehicle that has installed in it an hour meter that has been removed or altered without disclosing the removal or alteration to the buyer or noting such on the sales contract. A violation of this section is a Class 2 misdemeanor if the value of the property is two hundred dollars or less. If the value of the property is more than two hundred dollars, a violation of this section is a Class 4 felony.
