        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to authorize birth centers to operate in the state.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. Notwithstanding § 34-12-7, any birth center that follows the National Standards for Birth Centers developed by the American Association of Birth Centers as demonstrated by its accreditation by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers may operate to provide care for women before, during, and after normal pregnancy, labor, and birth.
