A JOINT RESOLUTION,
To propose a constitutional amendment to repeal certain voided
provisions regarding term limits for United States senators and representatives.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN:
Section 1. That at the next general election held in the state, the following repeal of Article III, section 32 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, as set forth in section 2 of this Joint Resolution, which is hereby agreed to, shall be submitted to the electors of the state for approval.
Section 2. That Article III, section 32 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, be repealed.
§ 32.
Commencing with the 1992 election, no person may be elected to more than two
consecutive terms in the United States senate or more than six consecutive terms in the United
States house of representatives.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN:
Section 1. That at the next general election held in the state, the following repeal of Article III, section 32 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, as set forth in section 2 of this Joint Resolution, which is hereby agreed to, shall be submitted to the electors of the state for approval.
