FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to
revise the composition of the Commission on Uniform
Legislation.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 2-11-1 be amended to read as follows:
2-11-1. The
commission on uniform legislation
appointed members of the Commission on
Uniform Legislation
consists of five suitable persons learned in the law, appointed by the
Executive Board of the Legislative Research Council for terms of three years each. The terms
shall begin on the first of August of the year of appointment. The terms shall be staggered so
that no more than two terms expire each year. The members shall hold office until their
successors have been appointed.
Any person, not otherwise a member of the commission,
elected as a life member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws,
shall also be a life member of the commission.
Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the
Executive Board for the remainder of the term in which the vacancy occurred.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
