A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION,
Congratulating and commending Cadet Colonel Susanna
Brazil Marking for receiving the General Carl A. Spaatz Award.
WHEREAS,
Susanna Brazil Marking is the 1,614th recipient of the General Carl A. Spaatz
Award, the first female cadet in South Dakota history to earn this prestigious award, and the first
Spaatz Award recipient in the South Dakota Wing in more than eighteen years; and
WHEREAS,
Cadet Marking serves as the South Dakota Wing Cadet Drill Team Commander;
the chairperson of the North Central Region Cadet Advisory Council; and is an active member of
the National Cadet Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS,
Cadet Marking has served as the Cadet Commander of the Joint Dakota Cadet
Leadership Encampment and as a representative of South Dakota and the United States as an
ambassador in the International Air Cadet Exchange:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED,
by the Eighty-second Legislature of the State
of South Dakota, that Cadet Colonel Susanna Brazil Marking be congratulated and commended for
being an outstanding student leader and an example of the best of South Dakota.
