AN ACT
ENTITLED, An Act to
stagger the licensing of snowmobiles and boats.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 32-5-9.1 be amended to read as follows:
32-5-9.1. License fees for snowmobiles, payable under § 32-5-5, shall be twenty dollars per snowmobile for a two-year period. The fees shall be prorated monthly and the snowmobile registered in the same manner as motor vehicles pursuant to § § 32-5-2.2 and 32-5-2.6. Payment of the snowmobile license fee shall be made prior to the operation of, or permitting the operation of, any snowmobile within this state except as specified under § 32-20A-15.
Section 2. That § 32-3A-13 be amended to read as follows:
32-3A-13. Each registration and validation decal shall expire on the last day of the month of the year for which it was issued. The boat shall be registered in the same manner as motor vehicles pursuant to § § 32-5-2.2 and 32-5-2.6. The registration may be renewed by the owner and new validation decals obtained as provided in § 32-3A-4.
