FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to limit the ability of a person to obtain a concealed pistol
permit related to the restoration of civil rights and to declare an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 23-7-52 be repealed.
23-7-52. If a person's civil rights, including the right to possess a weapon, are restored
pursuant to state law, a person is not prohibited from obtaining a permit to carry a concealed
pistol or an enhanced permit to carry a concealed pistol under state law.
Section 2. Whereas, this Act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
