        FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to authorize motor carrier inspectors to carry firearms.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
    Section 1. That chapter 32-2 be amended by adding a NEW SECTION to read:
    A motor carrier inspector of the Department of Public Safety may carry a firearm. If the motor carrier inspector carries a firearm, the motor carrier inspector shall complete an enhanced permit class for an enhanced pistol permit that is instructed by a certified instructor of enhanced permit for a concealed pistol and approved by the secretary of the Department of Public Safety. If a motor carrier inspector chooses to carry a firearm, the motor carrier inspector shall complete the enhanced permit class every five years.
