A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending the South Dakota National Guard 82nd
Civil Support Team of Rapid City, South Dakota, on being awarded the General John J. Pershing
Trophy and for its continued demonstration of support to the local community and the state.
WHEREAS, the South Dakota National Guard 82nd Civil Support Team was awarded the
General John J. Pershing Trophy in 2016; and
WHEREAS, the General John J. Pershing Trophy is presented to the unit in each Army area
attaining the highest figure of merit in the nation during annual weapons qualification firing with
assigned individual weapons:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Second Legislature of the
State of South Dakota, that the Legislature expresses its respect, commendation, and congratulations
to the South Dakota National Guard 82nd Civil Support Team for receiving the General John J.
Pershing Trophy and recognizes the team for its outstanding service to the great State of South
Dakota and the United States of America.
