FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to provide for the continuation of the paraprofessional
tuition assistance scholarship program and to make an appropriation therefor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That section 7 of chapter 100 of the 2016 Session Laws be repealed.
Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, to the Department of Education for the purposes of funding the paraprofessional tuition assistance scholarship program established in § 13-55-72.
Section 3. The secretary of the Department of Education shall approve vouchers and the state auditor shall draw warrants to pay expenditures authorized by this Act.
Section 4. Any amounts appropriated in this Act not lawfully expended or obligated shall revert in accordance with the procedures prescribed in chapter 4-8.
